Compliance And Sustainability

Compliance and Sustainability at Reciclomad, Unipessoal Lda

Reciclomad, Unipessoal Lda, operates with unwavering commitment to compliance with European regulations and the stringent conditions of our waste management permits. Adhering to strict ISO standards, we ensure that every aspect of our operations meets the highest industry benchmarks.

Packaging Waste Regulations: The Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) 2007, enacted in 1997, set the stage for responsible waste management. Reciclomad, accredited since the scheme's early days, actively participates in offsetting packaging waste obligations through the purchase of Packaging Recovery Notes (PRNs) from accredited recyclers. Our accreditation as an exporter and recycler of European plastic packaging waste underscores our dedication to sustainability.

Investment in Recycling Infrastructure: Our success has empowered us to invest significantly in the European recycling infrastructure, spanning Property, Plant, and Equipment. As an accredited recycler, we contribute to Europe's recycling targets by continually investing in cutting-edge equipment. This ongoing commitment aims to enhance our capability to recycle a broader spectrum of plastics and materials, reducing reliance on overseas recovery and minimizing waste sent to landfills.

Traceability: Reciclomad ensures traceability throughout our operations. Every kilogram of waste entering our site undergoes meticulous tracking on our calibrated weighbridge. This information, including source, carrier, vehicle registration, description, waste type, driver signature, and weighbridge operative signature, is meticulously logged through our integrated SAP software. This robust traceability extends through the reprocessing phase, ensuring transparency and accountability in our waste management processes.

Our holistic approach, from compliance to investment and traceability, reflects our dedication to sustainable waste management practices and contributes to a greener, more environmentally conscious future in Europe.
